E-mail on 'Cinnamon Grove' by R. Nathaniel Dett

[The Collected Piano Works of R. Nathaniel Dett; Summy-Birchard (1973)]

AfriClassical recently posted “Phoenix Park-Kim Makes World Premiere Recording of R. Nathaniel Dett's 'Cinnamon Grove'”. The post included a link to the First Movement (4:11) of Cinnamon Grove, which pianist Phoenix Park-Kim plans to release on CD in 2009. The CD will also include works of three other African American composers, John Carter, Margaret Allison Bonds and H. Leslie Adams. AfriClassical brought the post to the attention of The Nathaniel Dett Chorale in Toronto. Michelle Lynne Goodfellow, Artistic Administrator, The Nathaniel Dett Chorale, has made this reply: “Thanks for the message. I have sent it out to our singers, and I will also send it out to our Facebook lists. When we prepare our next e-newsletter (sometime late Sept) I can also include the links then.” We appreciate the support for our effort to make the new recording known. R. Nathaniel Dett (1882-1943), Margaret Allison Bonds (1913-1972), and H. Leslie Adams (b. 1932) are profiled at AfriClassical.com
