Yesterday Girma Yifrashewa informed us of his new website, http://www.GirmaYifrashewa.com. We immediately visited the site and found it attractive and informative. From the home page one can explore: Discography, Compositions, Concerts & Tours, Gallery, Guest Book, Links, and Contact. We have taken great pleasure from Girma's 2006 CD Elilta. AfriClassical.com is proud to have a 1-minute audio sample of each of the 6 tracks on the recording. Girma Yifrashewa has demonstrated the possibility of incorporating indigenous themes within classical forms, in spite of the lack of widespread performances of classical music in Ethiopia. AfriClassical congratulates Girma Yifrashewa on his new website, which joins his existing website based in Germany.
