UNISA (University of South Africa) Press announces a new book by Christine Lucia, South African Guide to Staff Notation by Christine Lucia. UNISA Press says:
“This book and its companion CD introduce staff notation and theory of music through music familiar in South africa among various communities of music-makers. It presents a unique new approach to learning staff notation. Learners build up an understanding of each aspect of notation by experiencing it as music, which is further enabled by the accompanying CD. Tonic solfa is used in the earlier chapters to help learners relate the sounds to the concepts.”

I heard it's a great book and want to try it. I am teaching Music at school but don't have a specific book that I am using, a friend told me about it and I must say the content of it speaks volumes and it covers the work schedule that we have to use at school.
