Prentiss E. Mouton, to sing in OperaCréole's "La Flamenca," won 3rd place Senior Men and 2nd place in the new Hall Johnson category at the NATS Competition

AND I am happy to report that in the midst of the tragedies of the last few days, here is some POSITIVE news- on one of the artists I have engaged to sing in OperaCréole's "La Flamenca".

Prentiss E. Mouton is our Resident Tenor, and the youngest singer I employ. He won 3rd place Senior Men and 2nd place in the new Hall Johnson category at the NATS Competition in Chicago this weekend. He was also given a full scholarship to The Bay View Festival from Director of the festival, Dr. Everett McCorvy! His LSU voice teacher is Lorraine Sims.

Our Principal Tenor, Tyrone Chambers is currently in Germany for a tour of "Porgy and Bess!" Outstanding young men!!

I formed OperaCréole, because I wanted my people to know more about who they are, and for other groups to know about our contributions that helped make New Orleans and America great. Lucien Lambert's opera has not been heard in full for 113 years. And I am honored to put in the effort to make that happen!

Thursday morning, Aria and I sing La Marseillaise at the statue of Jean of Arc for Bastille Day. I will be thinking of this Creole composer born in France, and praying to bring his work to life.
